DALLAS, TEXAS (March 17) - A judge and jury may soon be telling billionaire real estate developer, Donald Trump, “You’re fired!” from his mega hit television show, The Apprentice.
Texas-based writer, Conrad Jamison, has filed a plagiarism lawsuit against Trump and the other Apprentice producers for allegedly stealing his idea for the employment interview-based television show. In addition to monetary damages, Jamison is seeking an injunction to keep the show off the air while the lawsuit is pending.
“I developed this [The Apprentice] idea three years ago,” said Jamison. “The working title was, Inter-Views - America Sits in on Your Job Interview. I sent it all over Hollywood to all the major agents, networks and producers … even to HotJobs. But nothing happened until Trump and Rob Burnett [creator of Survivor] got hold of it.”
Jamison says he always knew his idea was destined for success, but never dreamed that success would be enjoyed by Trump and others to the exclusion of the show’s creator in fact.
“Who knew Trump's theft would lead me to my most successful reality production which I'm calling, Suing Trump – Dunning the Don, about a group of lawyers competing to see who can nail the Don the fastest and for the most money. There are no shortage of contestants.”
Jamison said he doesn't harbor any hard feelings towards Trump and his Apprentice partners, but wishes Trump would own up to his indiscretion.
"It's too bad it had to come this, but now the only thing my attorneys are telling me is that 'they're fired ... up!"
